Dip powder nails in Spring Hill, priced honestly and done without a UV lamp. At US Nails on Forest Oaks Blvd, dip powder (SNS) starts at $35 and wears up to four weeks. The price on our menu is the price you pay — no surprise upcharges.

Dip has quietly become the most-requested finish in the shop, and it's easy to see why: it's harder-wearing than gel polish, lighter than a full acrylic set, and your hands never go under a lamp. Here's exactly what we offer, what it costs, how long it really lasts, and how to choose between dip, acrylic, and gel.

Honest pricing, every visit. The price on our menu is the price you pay — no surprise upcharges. And every set is done with fresh, single-use disposables, with multi-use tools disinfected between every client. Clean, careful work is non-negotiable.

What dip powder actually is

Dip powder is a finely milled colored powder that bonds to your nail with a resin-style liquid and sets in the air using an activator. There's no lamp and no curing time to sit through — the layers build and harden as your tech works. The finish is thinner and more flexible than acrylic but noticeably tougher than a gel polish, which is why it holds a shine for weeks instead of days.

You'll also see it called SNS, after the brand that made the system popular. When someone in Spring Hill asks for "SNS nails," dip powder is what they mean — we use the terms interchangeably.

Our dip menu & prices

Dip Powder (SNS)
$35+
The everyday favorite
Colored powder built in thin layers over your natural nails or over tips, sealed and shined without a lamp. Wears up to four weeks. Best for: people who want colour that survives real life — dishes, gardening, grandkids — without acrylic length.
Powder Gel
$35+
Dip finish, gel feel
A powder-and-gel hybrid finish for a slightly glossier, more flexible result. Ask your tech which of the two suits your nail shape and how hard you are on your hands — the honest answer isn't always the pricier one.
Acrylic Full Set
$35+
When you want length
If what you're really after is length or a strong sculpted shape, acrylic is the better tool — and Andy has been doing acrylic work for over ten years. Same starting price, different job.

Prices are starting points; your tech confirms the final total with you before any work begins — that's part of the promise. For removal, a change of length, or nail art on top, give us a call and we'll quote you honestly over the phone.

Dip vs. acrylic vs. gel — which should you get?

This is the question we get asked at the desk more than any other. The short version:

If you want colour that lasts and you're happy with your own nail length, dip is usually the right answer. If you want length, ask for acrylic. If you have an event in two weeks and want the most natural look, gel. Not sure? Read our deeper breakdown of acrylic vs. dip vs. gel, or just come in and ask — we'll tell you which one actually fits your nails, even when it's the cheaper one.

How long do dip nails really last?

Dip powder itself will happily go four weeks without chipping. What usually ends a set isn't the powder failing — it's your own nail growing out, which leaves a visible gap at the cuticle somewhere around week two or three. Most people land in the three-to-four-week window before they want them redone.

A few things stretch that out: wearing gloves for dishes and cleaning, keeping your cuticles oiled so the edges stay flexible, and — the big one — not using your nails as tools. Prying, scraping, and opening cans is what lifts an edge, and once an edge lifts, water gets underneath.

Removal: the part that actually matters

If you take one thing from this page, take this one. Dip nails are meant to be soaked off, not picked off. Peeling a dip set feels satisfying and takes layers of your natural nail with it — that thin, bendy, tender feeling people blame on dip is almost always removal damage, not the dip itself.

Proper removal means the top layer is gently buffed to break the seal, then the nail is wrapped in acetone until the powder softens and lifts away on its own. It takes patience, which is exactly why it's worth having done rather than doing it at the kitchen table. Come in and we'll take them off properly — and if your nails need a break, we'll say so.

Frequently asked questions

How much do dip nails cost in Spring Hill?
At US Nails, dip powder (SNS) starts at $35. The price on the menu is the price you pay — no surprise upcharges. Call (352) 686-5330 to confirm current pricing and to ask about removal or a change of length.
How long do dip powder nails last?
Dip powder wears up to about four weeks. What usually ends a set isn't the powder failing but your own nail growing out, which leaves a visible gap at the cuticle after two to three weeks. Most people come back somewhere in the three-to-four-week window.
What's the difference between dip powder, acrylic, and gel?
Dip powder is a colored powder sealed with a resin-style liquid and cured in the air, so there's no UV lamp. Acrylic is liquid and powder sculpted into shape — what you want for real length and strength. Gel is a polish cured under a lamp for a high-shine finish. Dip sits between the two. Our full comparison is here: acrylic vs. dip vs. gel.
Does dip powder need a UV lamp?
No. Dip powder sets in the air with an activator, so your hands never go under a UV or LED lamp. That's the main reason people who'd rather avoid lamp time choose dip over gel.
Do dip nails damage your natural nails?
The application is gentle — the damage almost always comes from removal. Picking or peeling a dip set takes layers of your natural nail with it. Dip is designed to be soaked off in acetone, and having it removed properly instead of picked at is the single biggest thing you can do for the health of your nails.
Can I get dip over my natural nails, or do I need tips?
Either works. Dip powder goes straight over your natural nails if you have some length of your own, or over tips if you want to add length first. If you're after real length or a strong sculpted shape, an acrylic full set is usually the better call — come in and we'll tell you honestly which one suits your nails.
Do you serve Timber Pines, Wellington at Seven Hills, and Glen Lakes?
Yes. We're on Forest Oaks Blvd in Spring Hill — about 5 minutes from Timber Pines and roughly 10 minutes from Wellington at Seven Hills and Glen Lakes in Weeki Wachee. We welcome clients from all over Hernando County including Brooksville.
